This year’s NEW TOUGHTEEN triathlon for ages 15-19 years old will feature a 300 swim, a 6mile bike, and a 2.5mile run on an entirely closed course. The new course map can be found under “Event Info”.

TOUGHMAN Triathlon Announces Danny’s Cycles as Official Bike Sponsor for 2012!

Danny’s cycles, with stores in NYC, Stamford Ct, Mohegan Lake, Rye Brook, and Scarsdale will be this year’s official bike sponsor. Danny’s Cycles will be present at the vendor expo to check equipment as well as do race day support.

For 2012 our bike course has been totally revamped. This year you will be riding on rte 9/9a for a 28m loop that you will do twice. This will be a totally CLOSED TO CAR TRAFFIC bike course!

Caitlin Begg has been chosen to be the TOUGHTEEN Ambassador for 2012! Caitlin, one of the youngest athletes to complete a half iron triathlon has raced Toughman for the last 3 years. She is the founder of YOUNGTri.com, the first and only triathlon association for youth triathlon in the US. For more information about YOUNGTri go to www.YOUNGTri.com . You can see Caitlin racing in New England this year as she will be a freshman at Harvard University.

TOUGHKids Ridgefield has joined the TOUGHKids triathlon seires. The new Ridgefield TOUGHKids will take place on June 2nd in Ridgefield CT. TOUGHKids is proud to have the organizers of the Ridgfield Sprint triathlon as part of the TOUGHKids family. 75 qualifiers from the new Ridgefield race will earn a spot at the TOUGHKids NY Championship on Sept 8th!

The Toughkids Triathlon Series Championship as well as all 5 series qualifiers are open for registration. Open enrollment will be for the first 300 athletes who register for the Toughkids race with all other spots being allocated for the qualifier races.
